Adrien Rabiot prioritizing Manchester United move following Juventus exit

Adrien Rabiot is reportedly interested in joining Manchester United as he continues to look for a new club after leaving Juventus earlier this summer. The French midfielder is a free agent, and the Red Devils hold a long-term interest in the 29-year-old.

90min reports that Rabiot is prepared to delay a decision over his future and see what occurs before the European transfer window slams shut on September 1. He wants to continue playing at the top level in Europe. Moving to Old Trafford appears enticing despite Erik ten Hag’s men playing in the UEFA Europa League rather than the Champions League next season.

Rabiot was in fine form for Juve last season, posting five goals and three assists in 35 games across competitions. He was also a regular starter at Euro 2024 with France, putting interested clubs on notice with several eye-catching performances for Les Bleus.

The former PSG man has been on Manchester United‘s radar before and was in talks regarding a move two years ago. This fell through because of his wage demands at the time, but the Red Devils seem to be still keeping tabs.

However, United isn’t the only club monitoring Rabiot’s situation as Turkish giants Galatasaray are showing interest, while Atletico Madrid could swoop for him if Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher doesn’t arrive. He has received interest from Saudi Arabia giants Al Shabab, but he’s more intent on remaining in Europe than heading to the Middle East.

Manchester United’s potential move for Adrien Rabiot could rest on PSG’s Manuel Ugarte

Manchester United’s summer rebuild shows no signs of stopping despite the double acquisition of Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich on Tuesday (August 13). INEOS have backed Ten Hag with four new signings, and they are set to turn their focus on signing a new midfielder, with PSG’s Manuel Ugarte their top target.

Ugarte, 23, has agreed personal terms with the Reds regarding a move to Old Trafford, but the two European heavyweights have yet to agree on a fee. The Parisians value the Uruguayan midfielder at 60 million, which the Premier League club isn’t willing to pay.

Manchester United could turn to Rabiot to strengthen their midfield if they can’t find an agreement with PSG for Ugarte. They are two different profiles of midfielders, but Ten Hag has the likes of Casemiro to turn to for the No.6 role should the more attacking-focused Frenchman arrive.
