The Blues were reportedly interested in a swap deal for Raheem Sterling with Juventus that would have seen Federico Chiesa join the West London giants. However, the deal fell through due to wage demands and the valuation of both players.
Juventus are keen to make a move for Sterling, who has struggled to live up to expectations following his big-money move from Manchester City in the summer of 2022. His mammoth £300,000 per week wages appears to be a stumbling block for any possible move this summer.
But, Chelsea would revisit in their pursuit of Federico Chiesa in a separate deal if they are able to find a solution for the English winger elsewhere.
