Didier Deschamps has announced his French squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures. Les Bleus will be hosting Italy and Belgium in Paris and Lyon respectively in the coming two weeks. French reporter, Fabrice Hawkins had reported uncertainty over the selection of the national team captain, Kylian Mbappe due to Real Madrid‘s desire to have him rested. Nonetheless, Deschamps has put an end to the rumours by including Mbappe in his 23-man squad.
“I don’t know where you got this information from. I spoke with Kylian. I found him in good shape with juice. After that he has always scored goals, he is there and it is his choice. He has everything to make it go well and even very very well. The coaches are going to have to manage the players.”, Deschamps’ words indicate that he had no second thoughts on choosing Mbappe for the Nations League games. France will be up against two challenging opponents early on in the new Nations League campaign and Kylian Mbappe’s presence will be an added boost.

Real Madrid’s request to the French federation is understandable because the club is preparing for the prospect of playing a staggering 72 games this season. Carlo Ancelotti has a big headache before every game to try and find the perfect mix of sharpness and fitness. Injury woes are the biggest cause of concern in the Real Madrid offices due to the thin squad at the Italian coach’s disposal.
Kylian Mbappe’s slow start at Real Madrid
The eyes of the soccer world were and have been on Kylian Mbappe this summer as the next Galactico at the Santiago Bernabeu. The 25-year-old was expected to hit the ground running from the beginning. His debut was a memorable one, winning the UEFA Super Cup whilst scoring his first goal. Since then, proceedings have become challenging with the Frenchman yet to register a goal contribution in La Liga.
Real Madrid has endured a poor start to its La Liga defence. Two draws and a solitary victory have been the opening results and Mbappe’s shaky beginning has been one of the major reasons. The former PSG man is yet to find his feet at his dream club. Positional confusions have halted him from operating at the best level. Nevertheless, Kylian Mbappe will be determined to not let his lifelong desire slide away this easily.
