Despite Kylian Mbappe leaving Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain, drama between the parties seems to continue. As per reports, Mbappe with his lawyers has contacted UEFA and Ligue de Football Professional (LFP), over the matter regarding the non-payment of his dues from his ex-club.
The French star left PSG after a long spell which started in 2017, to join his dream Real Madrid CF in the ongoing transfer window, in what was one of the biggest “free transfer deals” in the history of football. The move finally happened after Real Madrid made desperate attempts in the past four seasons to sign him.
The 25-year-old has now claimed that PSG has still not paid him 55 million Euros he is entitled to get. The sum includes a 36 million Euros signing bonus, salary for his last three months at the club, and an “ethics bonus” mentioned in his contract for the time of April 2024 to June 2024.
The claim as mentioned earlier has now been brought to the attention of LFP and UEFA. If LFP finds Paris Saint Germain guilty, they might impose a transfer ban. But a bigger concern awaits the club, as the matter has been highlighted to UEFA, PSG shall face a ban from participation in the coveted Champions League.
PSG needs to resolve the matter with their former star forward, or else they have to bear the aforementioned consequences. Interestingly, the club had signed Mbappe for a record fee of 180 million Euros from AS Monaco and later rejected multiple higher-valued bids before eventually losing the player for free. Mbappe has already started to excel at Real Madrid, helping them win the glorious UEFA Super Cup.
