Boasting a rich trophy cabinet with 20 first-tier league championship titles, 8 FA Cup titles, and six European Cup titles, Liverpool are one of the most successful clubs in England. The Anfield-based outfit are known for their passionate fan base worldwide. In 2024, Liverpool were forced to transition from their legendary manager, Jürgen Klopp, to Arne Slot. Arne Slot, an inexperienced manager who was previously managing Feyenoord. He introduced a new playing style to Anfield, which is the mix of positional dominance and counter-attacking play style with a slight blend of attacking gegenpressing.

Liverpool F.C. had an excellent run throughout the 2024-25 season. Arne Slot, in his debut season, brought glory days back to the Reds, helping them win their 20th Premier League trophy and become the most decorated club in the Premier League's history.

Liverpool FC History – Founding, Growth & Milestones

Liverpool F.C. were founded by John Houlding, who was a board member in Everton FC. After some arguments with the other board members, Houlding left the club and became one of the founding members of Liverpool F.C. In 1892, Liverpool F.C. were recognised as a club by the English Football Association. The club played their first match on September 1, 1892, in Liverpool FC history, a pre-season friendly match against Rotherham Town, which they won 7–1. Liverpool reached their first FA Cup final in 1914, losing 1–0 to Burnley. Liverpool won consecutive league championships in 1922 and 1923, but did not win another trophy until the 1946–47 season.

In 1958-59, Bill Shankly, who is one of the most decorated managers in Liverpool FC history, following his arrival, released 24 players and converted a boot storage room at Anfield into a room where the coaches could discuss strategy; here, Shankly and other "Boot Room" members Joe Fagan, Reuben Bennett, and Bob Paisley began rebuliding the team. With the help of Bill Shankly, Liverpool won a total of 11 titles. In the 1972-73 season, Bill Shankly decided to retire from the managerial post after spending 18 years at the club. To date, his philosophy of the Boot Room is still hugely appreciated by the hierarchy.

Let's come back to the modern era of football, in the 2003-04 season, Rafael Benitez was appointed as the manager of Liverpool F.C. Despite finishing fifth in the Premier League in Benítez's first season, Liverpool won the 2004–05 UEFA Champions League, beating AC Milan 3–2 in a penalty shootout after the match ended with a score of 3–3. The next season, Liverpool finished third in the Premier League and won the FA Cup, beating West Ham United in a penalty shootout.

The 2014-15 season marked the arrival of Jürgen Klopp, another successful manager in Liverpool FC history.

In the 2018–19 season, with 97 points, Liverpool surpassed the 86 points gained during the 2008–09 season and set a points record for a non-title-winning side, while suffering only one loss. Klopp took Liverpool to successive UEFA Champions League finals in 2018 and 2019, with the club defeating Tottenham Hotspur 2–0 to win the latter. Liverpool beat Flamengo of Brazil in the final 1–0 to win the FIFA Club World Cup for the first time. And after 30 years of waiting, Liverpool F.C. were finally crowned Premier League champions in 2020, thanks to the help of Jürgen Klopp.
