Former Manchester United striker encourages Cristiano Ronaldo to finish the story at Old Trafford

Manchester United has been fortunate to witness some of the most iconic and unforgettable years of Cristiano Ronaldo’s illustrious career. The 39-year-old was most recently part of the English giants from 2021 till the end of 2022. His second stint ended in a disappointing manner leaving a sour taste in the relationship between the player and the club which continues to the day.

Several United pundits and ex-players have since lashed out at the Portuguese for some of his controversial comments. Louis Saha, however, has been sympathetic with Ronaldo, He didn’t see the same formula and didn’t see the passion from young players. Now he will know that he needs to find a new way to communicate when he becomes a coach”. The striker who spent four seasons at United backed the Al Nassr man to return to Old Trafford one day in some capacity as a coach.

Currently, it is difficult to imagine Cristiano Ronaldo coming back to Manchester United, especially with Erik ten Hag still at the helm. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s 2021/22 season was a rather positive one with the Mancunians as he accumulated 27 goal contributions in 39 appearances. From the second season, though, issues popped up which led to his exit less than six months later.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s incredible fallout with Erik ten Hag

At the onset of the 2022/23 European campaign, the Red Devils fans were excited to commence a new adventure under Erik ten Hag who took over managerial duties after a successful time with Ajax. Ronaldo himself expressed his contentment with the Dutch coach in the beginning. All the positives sadly vanished quickly as ten Hag overlooked the legend in favour of younger options. The 54-year-old also did not miss any chance to unleash his frustrations about the former Real Madrid man.

The manager’s decision did not sit well with Cristiano Ronaldo who criticised him in several publicised interviews. Following the FIFA World Cup in December 2022, it became clear that the situation was beyond irreversible. Ronaldo and Manchester United agreed on a mutual termination of his contract which also marked the end of his European career. United fans will be delighted to welcome one of their biggest legends back for one final stint one day to rebuild the broken bond.
