Endrick enjoys dream debut at Santiago Bernabeu with first Real Madrid goal

The Santiago Bernabeu was packed with expectations during Real Madrid’s first home game of the season. The fans were hoping for a debut home goal from one of the club’s star summer signings, Kylian Mbappe. It was Endrick, though, who got his moment at the Cathedral of football. The Brazilian has marked his beginning in what he will hope is a triumphant career at Real Madrid.

Endrick was called by Carlo Ancelotti as a late substitute in the second half against Real Valladolid. The 18-year-old replaced Kylian Mbappe and managed to get on the scoresheet just 10 minutes later. Dani Ceballos’ brilliance allowed Brahim Diaz to move the ball forward towards Valladolid’s goal. The Moroccan international waited for the right moment to release Endrick. The former Palmeiras man turned away from his defender and unleashed a thunderous shot from his right foot to find the back of the net.

The Brazilian prodigy became the youngest foreigner to score a goal in Real Madrid’s illustrious history. His celebrations indicated the relief and excitement he felt at the moment. Endrick has been subject to brutal trolling and criticisms in recent months mainly due to some controversial comments in interviews and an underwhelming Copa America campaign. The goal will do him good for the remainder of his debut season at Madrid.

Endrick is well-praised by teammates and coaches

Endrick has followed the path of Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo at Real Madrid by arriving at Real Madrid as an 18-year-old after a successful period in Brazil. The two Madrid wingers have ensured that their protégé has been able to feel at home. Fortunately for Endrick, the rest of the squad has also helped him settle well by swiftly including him in the circle. The player’s talent is undeniable which will take him to the top in the right environment.

“Endrick looks very good, he has very big potential. He showed that with his goal.”, Carlo Ancelotti heaped praise on the youngster in his post-match press conference. The Italian manager has spotted and framed a role for the Brazilian. His ball striking, mobility, shot power, and low centre of gravity make him one of the most exciting wonder kids in Europe currently.
