Joao Felix has urged Barcelona to sign Bernardo Silva from Manchester City. He believes that the Portuguese star would cost £50 million but it would be ideal to even get him for over £65 million.
Speaking on Gerard Romero’s show Jijantes FC, Felix did not hide his desire to play with Silva at Barcelona. He stated that the Manchester City star would be his first signing if he was handed the SPorting Director powers at the Catalan club.
He said:
“If I were (Sporting Director) Deco for a day, I would sign Bernardo Silva without a doubt. Let them bring him (to Barca). Have you seen him play? He’s even better as a person. He’s from (Joao) Cancelo’s generation. Now players last until they are 35-36 years old. His sister-in-law is here, (he’s asked me) about how things are here, the weather, tax issues… I told him it’s all right for him to come. I don’t think Manchester City will make it easy. For £50 million I would bring him, even for £65-75 million.”
When asked which number he would hand the AS Monaco star, Felix was quick to give the #10 jersey, worn at the club by Lionel Messi for nearly 2 decades. He said:
“He would like to wear the number 10. It’s a very important number at the club, you can’t give it to just anyone, you have to be careful. It’s my favourite number, but I’ve never worn it.”
Bernardo Silva has been linked with a move away from Manchester City this summer. Barcelona are in the race to sign the midfielder but faces competition from PSG.

Joan Laporta, the Barcelona president, has admitted that they are working to keep Felix, along with Joao Cancelo, at the club next season. He said:
“I think they will continue. I hope that Atletico de Madrid will not have any objection to Joao Felix continuing with us and I think that City will not object either. We have an agent there who is working on the issue, Jorge Mendes, and he knows our intention to continue with the players. What I can’t tell you now, because it will depend a lot on the amounts, is whether we are going to sign them or extend the loan. It will surely be an extension of the transfer, already setting a price.”
However, Barcelona is yet to sort out its financial status and is looking to loan in the two stars once again.
