Arsenal set their sights on two strikers as the Premier League club looks to off-load an attacker

Arsenal linked with Ajax and Lille’s striker

According to ‘CaughtOffside’, the Premier League outfit Arsenal is currently monitoring Ajax’s Brian Brobbey and Lille’s Jonathan David as potential striker options in the ongoing summer transfer window. Arsenal is expected to make a move for a striker leading up to the 2024-25 season, to put that one last missing piece of the puzzle in Mikel Arteta’s armoury.

While Brian Brobbey has been heavily linked with the Gunners lately, the links of them keeping tabs on Lille’s Jonathan David have heated up recently. Both Brian and Jonathan are well capable in front of the goal and are equally suited to the style of football that Mikel Arteta plays at Arsenal in the Premier League.

Although nothing is currently that advanced when it comes to the English clubs pursuing a potential deal for either of them, things could move quickly in the coming days. Brian Brobbey’s recent contract at Eredivisie club Ajax runs till June 2027. He scored 18 goals and registered 10 assists in the last Dutch top-flight campaign. Jonathan David’s current contract with Lille goes on till June 2025, and he netted 19 goals and further added four assists to his tally in the previous Ligue 1 season.

While Brian Brobbey might be tipped to be garnering more interest from Arsenal themselves and rival Premier League club Man United, Jonathan David might yet turn out to be a more feasible option for the Gunners, as his contract with Lille expires next year, and they might be tempted to get a decent chunk of money for him.

Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah garnering interest for Marseille and rival Premier League sides

The report from ‘CaughtOffside’ signifies that Ligue 1 club Marseille is potentially lining up an offer in the region of about €25 million for Arsenal Eddie Nketiah this summer. However, the Gunners reportedly value him around a sum of €35-40 million. It is because a long list of clubs is termed to be sniffing around the forward player in this transfer window, and this lands the Gunners in a decent position.

Apart from Marseille, Premier League clubs such as Wolves, West Ham United, Everton, and Crystal Palace are also among the clubs keeping tabs on the player. So, Marseille may need to enhance their bid to catch Arsenal’s hierarchy’s eyes. Eddie Nketiah wasn’t a regular name on Mikel Arteta’s team sheet in the last Premier League campaign.

The 25-year-old featured in patches throughout the course of the season. Arsenal could utilize funds from his sale to maybe buy another attacker as Nketiah being a London-born player enhances their scope for profit.
