As per reports by British newspaper The Sun, Chelsea are preparing a stunning double player plus money swoop for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
It is being said that Napoli, who are now managed by former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte have asked for Romelu Lukaku, Cesare Casadei and an additional £39m in exchange for Osimhen.
Osimhen, who has netted 41 times in the last two league campaigns is known to be clearly looking for a move away, with PSG also having been linked with the Nigerian. It has been rumoured for the whole summer that Lukaku is going to be his replacement.
Chelsea are in the market for a striker after a £34.5m deal for Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion failed. The Blues have already spent £152m in this window and a total of £1.114b under the ownership of Todd Boehly in the last two years.
Lukaku was himself bought for £97.5m and his time at the Stamford Bridge has been nothing sort of a nightmare. In fact, between him and young midfielder Casadei, Chelsea could be set to make a huge loss of £46m for two players who cost them a combined £114.5m in the last three years. Moreover, Lukaku spent the last two seasons on loan at Roma and at Inter and Casadei did the same at Leicester City and Reading.
That being said selling two pieces of deadwood for someone like Osimhen is more of the type of business that Chelsea should be doing. The Nigerian will almost certainly be a hit in the Premier League, even perhaps challenging for the Golden Boot.
