Premier League Top Scorers: Latest Golden Boot Standings After GW 19

Gameweek 19 of the Premier League was concluded recently with many brilliant individual performances creating a difference for their respective teams. Manchester City’s Erling Haaland still sits atop the goal-scoring charts even after missing quite several games due to injury-related issues.

The Norwegian forward has scored 14 goals in the Premier League this season with his last goal coming in the fixtures against Liverpool back in November. Haaland is expected to return by the start of January providing a huge opportunity to the other Premier League forwards to catch up with him.

Dominic Solanke takes charge

AFC Bournemouth have been on a stunning run of form in the past few weeks having won five out of their last six games in the league and the center of attention has been none other than their star striker, Dominic Solanke. The English international has scored 12 goals so far this season placing him at the second position along with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

Solanke has been on the scoresheet for the Cherries for three consecutive Premier League games in a row now, scoring five times in the process, and would be looking ahead to keeping up with the same form against Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham in Gameweek 20 at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. Solanke also recently scored a hattrick in a 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah has been going through a dip in his goal-scoring form, scoring only twice in his last six Premier League appearances, his latest coming in the 1-1 draw against Arsenal at Anfield.

Jarrod Bowen, Heung-Min Son and Hwang Hee-Chan

West Ham have picked up their form after a rocky start to their season and have amassed some massive results recently as they beat the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. Amidst the results, Jarrod Bowen has stepped up beautifully for the Hammers this season, scoring 11 goals in 19 Premier League games so far. The 27-year-old is currently the fourth top-scorer of the league, tied with Tottenham’s Heung-Min Son who has also been brilliant for Spurs this season.

Following Son in the Golden Boot standings is his South Korean compatriot and Wolves striker, Hwang Hee-Chan. Hwang has scored 10 goals for Gary O’Neil’s side this season, with his latest being a brace against Brentford at the Gtech Community stadium. He would be looking forward to keeping up with the same form and adding to his tally as the season progresses.

Following Hwang in the standings is Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins with 9 goals in 18 appearances this season. Unai Emery’s Villa are already on a dream run in the Premier League this season with Watkins firing on all cylinders in front of the goal. The Birmingham side would surely be aiming to qualify for the Champions League by the end of the season.
