France National Football Team Player Ratings vs Poland
GOALKEEPER
Mike Maignan – 7
Made some good stops, especially to deny Piotr Zielinski in the opening minutes of the game. Also saved Robert Lewandowski’s first penalty attempt, but was off the line.
DEFENDERS
Joules Kounde – 6.5
Was mostly seen in Poland’s half due to France holding the majority of the possession. Overall, he came up with a solid performance.
Dayot Upamecano – 5
Conceded the penalty that saw Poland equalise as he arrived late to tackle Karol Swiderski in the box.
William Saliba – 6.5
Another strong performance from the Arsenal defender. Dealt with most of Poland’s counter-attack.
Theo Hernández – 7
Could have scored a goal, but his attempt at the back post was saved by the Polish goalkeeper. He shut down most of Poland’s attacks from the right wing.
MIDFIELDERS
Aurelien Tchouameni – 5
Had an off day today. Wasn’t as effective for the French team as they had expected him to be. He also misplaced some passes at crucial times.
N’Golo Kante – 7
France’s best player in the first two group stage matches, Kante controlled France’s midfield and led many transitions going forward that caused Poland a lot of problems.
Adrien Rabiot – 6
Was booked for a silly foul. However, he linked up well with Theo Hernandez to strengthen France’s attacks into Poland’s box from the left side.
FORWARDS
Ousmane Dembele – 7
Showcase immense speed and creativity from the right wing. Almost everything about Dembele’s performance was complete except an end product for Les Bleus.
Kylian Mbappe – 7.5
Started as a centre forward, but made the transition back to his preferred position on the left wing. Was nearly unplayable when playing from his favoured position. Was denied by Skorupski a few times before tucking away the penalty.
Bradley Barcola – 6
Brought in to replace Antoine Griezmann and definitely proved himself. Barcola will be a selection headache for Deschamps!
SUBSTITUTES
Eduardo Camavinga – 6
Olivier Giroud – 6.5
Youssouf Fofana – N/A
Randal Kolo Muani – N/A

GOALKEEPER
Lukasz Skorupski – 9
Poland’s best player on the pitch, the Bologna shot-stopper made seven incredible saves in the game, letting in one goal. By far, the best player on the pitch!
DEFENDERS
Jan Bednarek – 6
Tried his best to keep Barcola quiet. Suffered a knock from his own goalkeeper but rallied on to a decent performance.
Pawel Dawidowicz – 6
Calm on the ball and a commanding presence in the air, he was an integral part of Poland’s three man defence system!
Jacub Kiwior – 5
Was at fault for an insane foul on Ousmane Dembele to concede a penalty against his team. The penalty gave France the required momentum to hold their own in the game.
MIDFIELDERS
Przemyslaw Frankowski – 7
Spent most of his time dealing with the trio of Hernandez, Mbappe and Barcola and was quite decent at doing his job and held his own against them!
Jakub Moder – 6
Was undecided between attacking or defending against France’s quick attackers. Managed to be average at both the tasks assigned to him by his manager.
Piotr Zielinski – 6
Tried very hard in the middle of the park to create multiple chances for Poland to capitalise and turn into goalscoring opportunities. Came up with an incredible long-range shot in the first half and was unlucky to be denied.
Nicola Zalewski – 5
Took a yellow card after being unable to deal with Mbappe and was limited throughout the game. Was subbed off at the 68th minute.
Sebastian Szymanski – 7
Worked very hard up and down the field, helping his team in attack as well as defence. His efforts deserved a draw for his team, at the very least!
Kacper Urbanski – 5
Had a very good chance to score from a set piece situation, but failed to score. Upamecano stood on his ankle in an in-play incident, but he shook it off to play the entire game!
FORWARDS
Robert Lewandowski – 8.5
Made his first start for Poland following his injury and looked in the mood to score goals. Missed a couple of chances in the first half, but converted the penalty to equalise for his team in the second half.

Karol Swiderski – 6.5
