The UEFA Nations League gets underway for the 2024-25 season this weekend, with a breath of fresh air surrounding Ireland and England especially.

Both sides are now under new leadership, with the Three Lions being temporarily managed by Lee Carsley. On the other hand, Ireland have brought in Heimir Hallgrimsson, famous for leading his Iceland national team to a shock victory against England at the Euro 2016.

Ireland, though, are in dismal form, having lost eight of their last 13 games, but what better occasion to bounce back than a famous win over England?

Key Players to Watch out for

Evan Ferguson (Ireland)

Evan Ferguson could be the main-main for Ireland against what is expected to be a fairly inexperienced English defence. His presence in the air and movement through the channels will definitely stretch England to some extent.

Noni Madueke (England)

The Chelsea star has started the ongoing domestic season on a brilliant note and will be gunning for this opportunity to impress. Madueke’s skill on the ball along with his composure in making vital decisions at the right times could be the difference between the two sides.

Ireland vs England Prediction

This could be a close one with both teams playing under new managers. Both, Carsley and Hallgrimsson will definitely not want to lose this game. The game could be an exciting one, especially on the wings, but expect both teams to cancel each other out.

Predicted Score: Ireland 1-1 England
