Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp provides update on touchline spat with Mo Salah

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has claimed that his clash with Mohamed Salah has been resolved. Salah and Klopp were spotted arguing with each other during the 2-2 draw against West Ham United. As the Egyptian was getting ready to come onto the pitch, he was spotted having a heated confrontation with Klopp.

After the West Ham game, Salah was still spotted fuming in the mixed zone. There were rumors that his relationship with Klopp had broken down. The German manager, however, has claimed that’s not the case. He revealed that they have known each other for too long and have too much mutual respect and have resolved the matter between them. Klopp said (via Football Insider):

“It’s been completely resolved. It’s not a problem. If we wouldn’t know each other for that long how we woud deal with it but we respect each other too much. We are completely fine.”

Salah and Klopp have been at Liverpool together since 2017, the year the Egyptian winger returned to the Premier League. Salah has scored 210 goals and has provided 88 assists in 346 matches for Liverpool since joining the Reds. The Merseysiders have won eight trophies since Salah’s arrival, including the Premier League, the Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup, and more.

Klopp is set to step down at the end of the season. Salah’s recent altercation with his longstanding manager also cast doubt over the Egyptian’s future at Anfield. However, Klopp has claimed that they have resolved the matter as Liverpool aim to finish the season strongly.

Mohamed Salah’s numbers for Liverpool this season

Mohamed Salah hasn’t been at his astounding best this season. The winger has scored 24 goals and has provided 13 assists in 41 appearances across competitions. While the numbers are still impressive, Salah has set the bar for himself so high that many have opined that the Egyptian is on the decline.

Salah suffered a hamstring injury at AFCON which kept him out of action for a significant amount of time. Liverpool, meanwhile, have won the Carabao Cup this season. They have been knocked out of the FA Cup and the Europa League. The Anfield giants are third in the Premier League table with 75 points from 35 matches, five points behind league leaders Arsenal.
