Lionel Messi injury: Will he play against Peru in Argentina’s next Copa America fixture?
Argentina have managed to win both of their Group A fixtures against Canada and Chile respectively in the Copa America 2024 so far. They will next come up against Peru in their final Group A match before making their way to the quarterfinals of the tournament. However, a denting concern has surfaced among the team’s hierarchy as their star number 10 Lionel Messi has reportedly suffered a notable injury scare.
Earlier it was reported by ‘The NewYork Times’, that Leo missed La Albicelete’s important training session ahead of their match against Peru. Later the news surfaced that the veteran player had caught a muscle injury that made his participation against Peru doubtful. The 37-year-old has played and started in both games for Argentina in their Copa America 2024 campaign. He also has an assist to his tally during these two outings.
