Luke Shaw Injury Update

Luke Shaw Injury Update: When Will He Return for Man United?

In recent developments, it’s now been known that Manchester United’s Luke Shaw has faced another setback in his recovery and will be out for a further 6-8 weeks. He reportedly picked up an injury on the muscles of the leg he broke a couple of years ago.

The 29-year-old was initially expected to return after the international break in October.

Luke Shaw has not yet played this season after recovering from a muscle injury that occurred during England’s Euro 2024 campaign.

Speaking about the same, Luke Shaw had said, “I think it’s probably (before the break) but I can’t say I’m 100 per cent sure,”

“The plan is just to be back before but as I say I can’t say this 100 per cent for sure. It can also be shortly after the break,” he further added.

However, this new development has now cast further significant doubts over Shaw’s long-term career.

Erik ten Hag in a tight spot

Despite Erik ten Hag’s third season at the club starting off well, a run of three consecutive winless matches has put more pressure on the manager. The team’s performances, including disappointing draws against Crystal Palace and FC Twente, followed by a heavy 3-0 loss to Tottenham in the Premier League, were sharply criticized by Old Trafford icon Gary Neville, who labelled the defeat as “disgusting.”

To avoid further speculation about Ten Hag’s position, the squad must show significant improvement, and having a fully fit roster will be crucial.

This situation has been especially frustrating for Ten Hag, who has had to rely on Diogo Dalot to cover the left-back position in Luke Shaw’s absence, with Tyrell Malacia also out due to injury.
