The 2023–24 Premier League season is over now, and all the clubs have already started putting plans in place ahead of the 2024–25 season. The transfer window is set to open on June 14, and the clubs will look to add more players to their squads and remove the unwanted ones. The new Premier League season begins on August 17.
A major component of the preparation for a new season is the Premier League pre-season matches. Teams face off in friendly matches as managers test their plans out, players get to their match fitness and get ready for the upcoming campaign. Pre-season also provides clubs an opportunity for marketing and publicity as they often travel to different places in the world to play.
The 2024 summer also has the UEFA Euro and the Copa America, which have perhaps delayed the friendlies for some teams. However, most of the Premier League club’s pre-season friendlies are already set and will take place after the two tournaments.

At the time of writing (June 9), Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur are set to play the highest number of pre-season friendlies, with 6 each. It’s important to note that teams could add more matches to their schedule as we move further in the summer.
Moreover, Tottenham have already played one friendly as they faced Newcastle in Australia after the end of the 2023–24 campaign. Newcastle also faced Melbourne All Stars during that week.
