Tottenham Hotspur have released a shocking statement regarding a dead body found outside the Spurs stadium ahead of the club’s game against Nottingham Forest.
What Happened Outside Tottenham Hotspur Stadium?
Last evening a man was found dead outside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. According to the cops, the man was stabbed multiple times and unfortunately was pronounced dead at the scene itself. While further investigation is pending, the cops believe they have identified the victim and have begun the process of informing the man’s family. It remains to be seen who the murderer is as the person is still at large.
The incident occurred in North London on a road near the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. The victim was found at the crime scene near Northumberland Park at around 5:51am in the morning. Cops quickly arrived at the scene after being informed of an unresponsive victim on the ground near the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.
Chief Inspector Stephen Johnston-Keavy of Haringey offered the media a statement and said, “Our thoughts are with the man who has tragically lost his life. I can assure local people that specialist detectives are investigating and will leave no stone unturned in working to establish what happened to him, and to identify and arrest those responsible. I would like to thank local people for their patience and understanding while we go about this crucial work.
“If you have information that could help us, no matter how insignificant it may seem, please tell us. You will see officers on the cordons and on patrol and they will be ready to listen to you.” The police have also set up a helpline for people to contact the cops regarding any information on the incident which occurred near Tottenham Hotspur stadium.
Tottenham Hotspur statement on the incident
The Spurs management released a statement on the incident ahead of the English Premier League tie against Nottingham Forest. The club in their statement said, “ Following an incident in which an individual has lost their life, we are doing everything to accommodate the ongoing Police investigation, which is of the utmost importance.
This afternoon’s Premier League fixture against Nottingham Forest will go-ahead as scheduled, however the whole of Northumberland Park Road and Vicarage Road, as well as the north end of Worcester Avenue, will remain closed throughout.
We shall update supporters as and when we can, and ask for fans to be patient and allow extra travel time.
Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and all those affected.” The game scheduled against Nottingham Forest is set to proceed as scheduled.
