Euro 2024: Gareth Southgate announces new outfit to create ‘relaxed’ environment

Gareth Southgate will be taking up a new environment for Euro 2024 to create a more relaxed environment in the England squad. Southgate is set to ditch his typical suit and tie attire. Rather, he is looking to have a short-sleeved dress.

Southgate has claimed that he is looking to create a relaxed environment in the squad. After finishing runner-up in Euro 2020, England are aiming to go one step further. Southgate is leaving no stone unturned in the process to do so. He said (via Football on TNT):

“This year, it will be a more short-sleeved knits than a suit and tie, because we’re trying to create a relaxed environment.”

England have never won the Euros in their history. In the 2020 edition, they came agonizingly close. Southgate’s team were beaten in the final via penalties by Italy. They were knocked out by France in the 2022 FIFA World Cup quarter-finals. England have a talented squad in their ranks. Fans will keep a keen eye on how far they can go in the UEFA Euro 2024.

Euro 2024 England news: Cole Palmer previews Three Lions’ chances

Cole Palmer could become the surprise package of Euro 2024. The 22-year-old has been in blistering form for Chelsea. He finished his first season at Stamford Bridge with 25 goals and 15 assists in 45 matches. Palmer has also played for England twice and could become a difference maker at Euro 2024. Palmer said about his national team’s chances in the tournament (via GOAL):

“There’s a lot of talent in the squad, everyone can see that. I’m thrilled I can go there to represent England, we’ve got amazing players. Hopefully the team can gel together and try to win a tournament. The fans are amazing and I just want to do everyone proud.”

Palmer further explained his experience in the national team so far, saying:

“I knew a few of the seniors from City and Chelsea and it was good to be there but it was very different to the under 21s. I’ve only been twice so I’m not used to it but hopefully getting picked will help me get used to it. It’s different because it’s more intense, there’s pros who have been involved for many years. It’s great.”

Palmer is unlikely to be a starter at Euro 2024. However, he could become a handy option as the tournament progress. Fans will keep a keen eye on how Palmer fares for England.
