Athletic Bilbao continued their winning run after defeating Villarreal 2-0 on Sunday at San Mames to tightened their hold on the fourth place in the La Liga table. Aitor Paredes and Inaki Williams scored for them to help their side take full points in their home stadium.

They came into this fixture after defeating the defending champions Real Madrid 2-1 and will be looking to strengthen their position in the table to secure the champions league spot. This victory makes them six points clear of fifth placed Villarreal, who have two games at hand.
