Atalanta vs Arsenal Player Ratings

Atalanta 0-0 Arsenal: Player Ratings as David Raya helps Gunners salvage a point in Italy

Arsenal were able to take a point from the Gewiss stadium as they were able to keep Atalanta away from scoring thanks to David Raya’s penalty save. The match ended 0-0 as it proved to be an acid test on how much the Gunners had improved from the last season. The first half saw very little action as neither side were creating any meaningful chances.

De Ketelaere came close for the hosts but his effort comfortably sailed over the bar. Bukayo Saka also tested the Atalanta goalkeeper with a powerful freekick but it turned out to be a routine stop for him. Atalanta were handed the best chance of the game via penalty as Thomas Partey brought down Ederson inside the box. Retegui stepped to take in and Raya was very much confident as he made a phenomenal double save to deny him from the spot.

Atalanta were continuously knocking on the door and Cuadrado came close twice with his long-range strikes but was unable to break the deadlock.
