Atletico Madrid 1-1 Real Madrid: Player Ratings as Angel Correa’s equaliser prevent Los Blancos from moving closer to Barcelona

Atletico Madrid salvaged a draw in their Laliga league game after Angel Correa scored during the stoppage time from a brilliant pass from his fellow substitute Javi Galan. This draw would hurt Real Madrid a lot as a victory would have placed them just one points away from league leaders, Barcelona.

It was an action packed encounter with plenty of drama as the crowd were very aggressive in the Wanda Metropolitano. Carlo Ancelotti’s side opened the scoring in the second half after Vinicius’s delivery to the back post was controlled and powered home by Eder Militao.

Just after Real Madrid’s goal, the match was temporarily suspended after the supported hurled missiles and several objects notably lighters onto the pitch. Atletico Madrid’s manager Diego Simeone tried to calm down the tensions after speaking to the referee and the match resumed after nearly ten minutes.

After the restart Atletico looked sharp and it was in the stoppage time when Angel Correa latched onto a through ball from Javi Galan before taking it past Thibaut Courtois and finding the back of the net. The goal was initially ruled out for offside, but VAR intervened and the goal was declared legitimate. In the final seconds Marcos Llorente was sent off for a reckless challenge on Fran Garcia but it did not impact the match as there was not much time left.

Lets have a look at the Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid player ratings.
