Barcelona 2-1 Real Madrid: Player Ratings as Flick’s men triumph in pre-season El Clasico

Barcelona continued their solid start to pre-season with a 2-1 win over Real Madrid in an intriguing El Clasico clash in New York. Hansi Flick’s men were easily the better team and were quite dominant in the game, even though their manager later complained about the pressing.

Real Madrid, on the other hand have now lost both their pre-season friendlies. Sportsdunia brings you the player ratings for this El Clasico match!

El Clasico Player Ratings

Barcelona Player Ratings vs Real Madrid

Ter Stegen – 6/10. Only called upon to make two saves and wasn’t tested much by Real.

Alex Valle – 8/10. Shone despite playing on his weaker side, even getting an assist. He’s making a case to be in the first team for the season.

Andreas Christensen – 7/10. Kept it neat and tidy in typical fashion. Didn’t have to do too much defending.

Inigo Martinez – 7/10. Same as Christensen. Kept the game ticking.

Alejandro Balde -7.5/10. Looked bright, especially when carrying the ball up the field. Good minutes to build up on after the injury layoff that he had.

Marc Bernal – 7.5/10. Showed some good positioning and completed all his passes. Don’t be surprised if he establishes himself as a member of the first team this season.

Marc Casado – 6/10. Complemented Bernal well with his energy and fierce tackling.

Thibaut Courtois—7/10. A number of good saves and was repeatedly called into action.

Lucas Vazquez—7/10. Decent outing from him. Played with maturity and didn’t put a foot wrong.

Rudiger—6/10. Lack of communication between the two defenders was an issue.

Militao—3/10. A poor outing for Militao. Slow to react on both goals.

Fran Garcia— 4/10. Didn’t shine in defence or attack. He failed to nail down a starting berth.

Mario Martin—3/10. Failed to make too much of an impact as Barca kept playing around him.

Luka Modric—6/10. Tidy in possession, but chased shadows off it.

Dani Ceballos— 5/10. Almost the same as Modric. Good on the ball but nothing to show for it.

Brahim Diaz—5/10. Looked isolated and struggled to make any real impact.

Arda Guler— 8/10. Everything positive for Real on the night flowed through Guler. Had a goal ruled out for offside. Provided the assist from a corner kick on the lone Real Madrid goal.

Endrick— 5/10. The talent is there, but he’s yet to really fit in with the team.

Substitutions:

Joan Martinez—7/10. Another good outing for the 16 year old. Could play a part with the first team this season.

Jacobo Ramon—6/10. Looked good in moments, but the rashness of tackles showed his lack of experience.

Nico Paz—6/10. Scored the lone Real Madrid goal with a power header from a corner, left completely unmarked. Likely to leave this summer.
