Kingsley Coman is set to stay at Bayern Munich despite interest from Saudi Arabia. The French winger was subject to much transfer speculation over the window but it failed to materialize. Most recently, there was an offer of a considerable economic valuation from Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal for Coman, and with the transfer window for them still being open, the door had been left open for the player to have a final decision. It was between the Saudi riches or staying at Bayern and fighting for a starting berth even when it’s clear he won’t be the first choice. Coman has seemingly chosen the latter.
Bayern director Max Eberl also confirmed the same after Bayern’s 2-0 win against Freiburg at home on Sunday. “King is staying with us,” he told the press. Coman came on for Mathys Tel at the hour mark of the game, which the club won thanks to goals from Harry Kane and Thomas Muller.

Coman’s current contract at Bayern gets over only in June 2027, but the club has been making an effort to reduce the wage bill of the squad as much as possible this summer. He is currently the eighth best paid player in the squad, but his persistent injury problems meant that Bayern management was open to allowing him to leave the club. Coman will complete 10 years with the Bavarians at the end of this season, having notched up over 120 goal contributions in 297 appearances for the club, winning 19 trophies with them.
