“Enzo Fernández is thinking about having surgery for a hernia that’s been bothering him for months. Despite trying injections before every game to ease the pain, his condition has only gotten worse. Chelsea’s medical team will evaluate him post-Manchester City game. Surgery means three weeks out of action,” a media report read.

As revealed by the report, the player could soon have surgery, which could see him miss a vital period in Chelsea’s season. Although the date is not yet confirmed, if the player has the surgery in May, he could miss the FA Cup, if the Blues make the summit clash. Overall this campaign, Fernandez has made 27 Premier League appearances while making a further 11 in the FA Cup and League Cup. Manchester United, Newcastle United and West Ham United are also in the hunt for a place in the Europa League next season.

Chelsea are next in action on Saturday (April 20) when they take on Manchester City in the FA Cup semifinal. It will be an important week for both sides as Man City’s dream of winning a treble will see them take on Real Madrid and Chelsea. Defeats in both matches could end their dream while victories could see them march towards back-to-back trebles.
