Bayern Munich star winger Kingsley Coman has rejected a lucrative offer from Saudi Pro League, Champions Al-Hilal for a potential transfer to the Middle East on the transfer deadline day, reports Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg. The Saudi club had presented a lucrative reported €40 million proposal to Bayern Munich to secure the services of the French International who is contracted with the Bavarians until 2027. He had signed a long-term extension back in 2022.
The Bundesliga club were willing to let go of Coman, however, the player has no intention of leaving Europe and wants to continue being part of Vincent Kompany’s squad at the Allianz Arena. Additionally, Premier League club Arsenal also made a last-minute enquiry for the winger recently.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich’s CEO Max Eberl voiced his thoughts on the 28-year-old forward’s future at the club amid keen interest from outside of Europe in a press conference earlier today.
“He’s under contract,” told Eberl “and of course will be in the squad if he’s still here. The transfer window in other leagues will still be open for longer. But there’s no big indication that we’ll be going into the season with a much-changed squad [compared to right now].”
Kingsley Coman had joined Bayern initially on a two-season loan spell from Serie A side Juventus and later signed a permanent contract with the Bavarians in 2017 for a €21 million move from Turin and has been a key player for the German clubs over the years.
The French winger has made 296 appearances, bagging 64 goals and 66 assists so far and won eight Bundesliga triumphs and multiple domestic titles which also includes the continental treble in the 2019-20 season.
