Liverpool’s Klopp Provides Injury Update on Ryan Gravenberch Following EFL Cup Victory

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has provided an injury update on midfielder Ryan Gravenberch following their triumph over Chelsea in the EFL Cup final.

Klopp revealed that although Gravenberch has not sustained a broken ankle, he has suffered ligament damage due to a challenge from Moises Caicedo, forcing him off the pitch in the 28th minute of the match.

Speaking to Sky Sports News after the game, Klopp expressed his frustration with the refereeing decisions during the intense encounter. Despite the injury setback, Liverpool secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory thanks to Virgil van Dijk’s late header in extra time.

Klopp acknowledged the toll the victory has taken on his squad, with Gravenberch adding to the growing list of injured players at Anfield. He highlighted the challenges faced ahead of their upcoming FA Cup fixture against Southampton, indicating that the team selection will be limited due to the injuries.

“They did an x-ray [on Gravenberch], it is not broken but the ligaments got something. I actually feel really bad, but everything else is really good.” Klopp told Sky Sports News after the match.
