Liverpool plots ambitious deal for Real Madrid pair

The ongoing summer transfer window has been bland at most. Apart from Kylian Mbappe’s expected move to Real Madrid, there hasn’t been any other massive deal this summer. However, the situation could change in a flash if Liverpool get what they desire.

According to reports, Arne Slot’s side is interested in bringing in Real Madrid pair Rodrygo Goes and Arda Guler to Anfield. Sources claim Slot is a keen admirer of Rodrygo and feels the player can revitalize the team’s attack. With Kylian Mbappe’s arrival at the Bernabeu, there have been some questions about the Brazilian’s place in the team. However, even if Liverpool can convince Madrid to sell their star man, it won’t come at a cheap price.

Real Madrid are unlikely to part ways with the player for anything less than $150 million. This could be an enormous challenge for the Reds, considering they have a limited transfer fund, and blowing it out on a single player does not suit the club’s ideology.

Real Madrid is interested in loaning out Arda Guler

While Rodrygo could be out of Liverpool’s budget, the team could still make a move for midfielder Arda Guler. The Turkish midfielder has struggled for game time under Carlo Ancelotti following his move from Fenerbahce. It seems like higher-ups at Madrid can understand the player’s frustrations as they are reportedly planning to send him away on a short-term loan.

While this would not work out for a big team such as Liverpool, it is unlikely that the Reds can convince Real Madrid to sell the young star. Guler could be a suitable replacement for Luka Modric once the Croatian retires and it will be interesting to see if Liverpool would be okay with taking the player in on a year-long loan.
