Amidst the heating Saudi interest in Kevin De Bruyne, Premier League club Man City is reportedly prepared for the situation if the Belgian is to depart the club this summer. A recent report from ‘Goal’ has signified that the reigning English Champions have also lined up a potential replacement to fill KDB’s boots at Etihad in case the need arises.
Kevin De Bruyne’s current contract with Man City is set to expire next year in June 2025. Recently, the Belgian has pointed out that while he is happy at City, if an over-the-top offer comes in terms of financial occurrence, he is open to considering it. While it is a no-brainer that City and Pep Guardiola would like to keep him, they would have kept one eye on seeking an adequate replacement for him as well.

Who has City identified to be Kevin De Bruyne’s successor?
The report from ‘Goal’ backed by ‘Christian Falk’, stated that City has identified Bundesliga club Bayern Munich’s star player Jamal Musiala as the player to potentially replace KDB at the Etihad if the Belgian leaves.
The 21-year-old German player is regarded as one of the most talented players in Europe at the moment. His performances in Euro 2024 also grabbed a lot of attention worldwide. He made his Bayern debut in 2020 and has made significant strides since then.
Reports had it that Jamal Musiala and Bayern Munich have held certain contract talks over the last year or so, but things haven’t materialized and everything is at a halt as of now. His current contract with the German club runs till June 2026. Manchester City are tipped to have the fire-power in order to convince him to join them and strike an agreement with Bayern.
