Harry Maguire Injury: Defender could miss the rest of the season
Manchester United star Harry Maguire has reportedly picked up a muscle injury in training, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. Maguire could face up to three weeks out, essentially ruling him out for their last four Premier League games of the season.
Earlier in the campaign, Maguire was sidelined for almost a month with a groin injury, and now faces a disappointing end to his season with another injury spell. This means, the England international is set to miss out on their games to Crystal Palace, Arsenal, Newcastle United and Brighton.
However, United expect him to be fit for their FA Cup final against Manchester City on 25 May, whereas England will be hoping to have him for the upcoming Euro 2024 too.
Maguire join the long list of injuries currently plaguing the embattled manager Erik ten Hag, as Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and Willy Kambwala are all currently ruled out too.
Manchester United running out of time to secure European football
Mathematically out of the race for the Champions League, Manchester United are running out of time to seal their place in the Europa League and Europa Conference League too. With just 54 points from 34 games, the Red Devils are currently down in eighth position of the league table, and the margin for error is really small. But the side faces a tough last few games, with Arsenal and Newcastle United still to come, before finishing their season away to big-hitters, Brighton.
