Manchester United are going big this transfer window. The Red Devils are leaving no stone unturned to strengthen their defense. While Raphael Varane and Aaron Wan-Bissaka departed, the club spent huge to sign Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, and Noussair Mazaraoui. Of these all big names, the club shredded off the highest for Leny Yoro, paying about 52 million Euros to Lille.
This gigantic move for the 18-year-old talent is a big transfer success for the club. Especially because the player dreamt of signing for UCL winners Real Madrid, while the La Liga giants were also eager to have him. The transfer move wouldn’t have been this smooth without the interference of club legend Rio Ferdinand. The former English stopper, who played over 300 games for United had convinced Yoro to join Man Utd, despite having strong links with in-form clubs like Real Madrid.
Ferdinand seems very happy to have convinced the sensation centre-back and has gone all praise for him. Rio said that he feels the French star is “the best in the world at his age”. Ferdinand further added that he has seen a lot of highlights of Yoro playing and he is very proud of making the “right decision” of convincing the defender to join Erik ten Hag’s side.
Young Yoro is expected to play a crucial part in the backline of his new club. However, the Manchester United fraternity will have to wait for some time to see him play the official games. He was injured while facing Arsenal in a friendly in the United States. Ten Hag has full faith in him and expects him to recover soon.
