Tottenham Hotspur Targets Genoa’s Radu Dragusin for Defensive Reinforcement

Serie A side Genoa have set a €30 million price tag on their coveted defender, Radu Dragusin, who has captured the attention of several clubs, including English giants Tottenham Hotspur. The 21-year-old Romanian has been a standout performer for Genoa this season, showcasing impressive heading ability and defensive recovery skills.

While Genoa values Dragusin at €30 million, they are reportedly not actively seeking to sell the player during the January transfer window. Manager Alberto Gilardino expresses a desire to retain Dragusin and utilize his talents beyond January. Napoli are also reportedly interested, with talks underway about a potential deal involving Alessandro Zanoli.

Tottenham Hotspur keen on signing Radu Dragusin this January

Tottenham, eager to reinforce their defensive lineup, is pushing to finalize Dragusin’s signing by the week’s end. Negotiations advanced on Friday, and the clubs are currently discussing the transfer fee, with Genoa reportedly seeking around £25 million for the Romanian international.

In addition to Dragusin, Tottenham scouts were recently spotted watching Nottingham Forest‘s Morgan Gibbs-White, although a deal for the midfielder is considered unlikely this month. Spurs continue their search for a winger and midfielder before the transfer window closes.

Tottenham are reportedly considering a move for Ajax’s 18-year-old Stanis Idumbo Muzambo, while discussions with Chelsea for midfielder Conor Gallagher are yet to take place. Chelsea, open to selling Gallagher for around £40 million, aims to free up funds for a striker. The Blues are also in the market for a left-back, with Monaco’s Ismail Jakobs among the names under consideration.

Radu Dragusin, a product of the Juventus youth system, joined Genoa permanently in the summer after a loan spell with the club the previous season. The highly-rated centre-back, often likened to former Manchester United star Nemanja Vidic, has featured in 18 Serie A matches this season, contributing two goals and an assist. His contract with Genoa runs until 2027.

Tottenham’s pursuit of Dragusin comes at a crucial time, as injuries have hampered their defensive options, with Cristian Romero and Micky van De Ven facing setbacks.
