Saudi clubs rival Arsenal for Brentford’s Ivan Toney

Arsenal’s Interest in Ivan Toney Faces Competition

Arsenal have had its eye on Brentford striker Ivan Toney for a while now considering him a potential addition to their squad.

But as the transfer windows, the Gunners have yet to make an official move for the English forward leaving his future up in the air.

Toney whose contract with Brentford expires at the end of the season has attracted interest from several clubs. While Arsenal remains interested they have not taken decisive action which has allowed other suitors to enter the race.

And now with Saudi clubs entering the race, it won’t be easy for Arsenal to negotiate on their terms. This has now made the situation complicated for Mikel Arteta’s side as they know they can’t compete with the financial power of Saudi clubs.

Saudi Pro League clubs join the chase

The latest twist in Toney’s transfer saga comes from the Middle East.

According to Fabrizio Romano Saudi Pro League clubs are now discussing the possibility of bringing Toney to their league. With the lure of a lucrative salary Toney might be tempted to make the switch to Saudi Arabia especially with limited offers from European clubs.

But it’s unclear whether Toney would adapt well to a move to Saudi Arabia and Arsenal fans are divided on whether the club should still pursue him.

Mikel Arteta has reportedly shifted his focus toward other strikers making it uncertain whether Toney will end up at the Emirates or take on a new challenge abroad.
