Tottenham Transfer News: Spurs identify Joe Gomez as January target

Tottenham have an eye to target a defender in the upcoming January transfer window and they have embarked on Liverpool defender Joe Gomez as a possible option.

Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham are lacking depth at the back and also suffered a massive blow this season. In talking with the media, Postecoglou mentioned Cristian Romero will require five weeks as he is suffering from a hamstring injury. Romero was forced up the field during a match against Everton last Saturday. before his injury, he scored 3 goals for Tottenham in 15 appearances in Premier League season 2023-24 so far.

In between, Spurs are looking for possible options to strengthen their center-back position. According to The Mail, Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly, Genoa’s Radu Dragusin, and Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo are other options for Ange Postecoglou to target in the upcoming transfer window.

Impossible move for Gomez to Spurs

Liverpool defender Joe Gomez, a 26-year-old star is on a five-year contract until 2027 or we can say he will be the part of Reds for the full of three Premier League seasons from the current campaign. Gomez could be one of the best options for Ange Postecoglou but It’s unthinkable that Liverpool will sell Gomez to Spurs as he has won a Premier League title and a Champions League title for Liverpool.
