Wayne Rooney’s wife hired a spy to keep an eye on Ex-Man Utd icon 

Manchester United icon Wayne Rooney’s spouse, Coleen Rooney has reportedly hired a spy to keep a close eye on him. Following his recent appointment as the new manager of the EFL Championship club Plymouth Argyle. 

According to HeatWorld.com magazine, Coleen is being cautious about her husband, due to a series of infidelity scandals in their 16-year-long marriage. It is reported that a close relative will closely watch the Manchester United legend and will be reporting to his wife to ensure, he stays clear of his past habits during his stint

Earlier, Rooney’s wife had decided to remain in Cheshire alongwith their four sons at their family home in Greater Manchester. She hasn’t moved to Plymouth with him, since the former forward relocated to the southwest part of England.

After grappling with a rocky start to his coaching career, the former United legend is aiming to rebuild his managerial reputation. He agreed to a three-year deal with Plymouth, seven months after getting sacked from the role of Birmingham manager with only managing 15 games. 

In their EFL Championship 2024-25 campaign opener, Wayne Rooney’s managed side suffered a 4-0 setback against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough Stadium on Sunday. This major defeat would surely add more pressure on the 38-year-old, who has had a couple of disappointing spells as manager. 

Under Rooney, the Pilgrims were dreadful in their outing, as they failed to create any major chances in front goals, only registering a single shot on target in the entire match. As a result, they are currently sitting at the bottom of the Championship 2024-25 points table.
