Wolves’ deals on deadline day: Silva and Chiquinho moved on loan, Andre and Forbs join

Premier League club Wolves managed to get some good business done on the deadline day of the 2024 summer transfer window. The Old Gold moved players like Fabio Silva and Chiquinho on loan.

While Silva joined La Liga’s Las Palmas on a season-long loan move with no further obligation to buy (via ‘Fabrizio Romano‘), Chiquinho also secured a season-long loan move to Spanish club Mallorca in an agreement involving no obligation to buy (via ‘Danyal Khan‘).

Meanwhile, Wolves managed to get the signatures of Andre and Carlos Forbs across the line on the deadline day. Midfielder Andre joined from Brazilian club Fluminense on a permanent transfer worth around £21 million (via BBC), and forward Carlos Forbs joined from Eredivisie’s Ajax on a season-long loan with an option to buy around £11 million (via Wolves Alex).

Wolves move on from Luca Koleosho; no guarantee regarding Podence’s Saudi move and agreement reached for Ajax’s forward

As per ‘Fabrizio Romano‘ Premier League club Wolves have ‘moved on’ from their prominent winger target in the form of Burnley’s Luca Koleosho. Romano has insisted that the Clarets want a transfer sum of around £40 million for the player, which is understandably ‘considered’ an expensive deal to make by the Wolves’ hierarchy as of now.

Earlier various reports hinted that Wolves have made an offer of around £25 million to Burnley in order to sign Koleosho.

Moving on to Daniel Podence’s situation at the Old Gold with the transfer window nearing its closure, Journalist Ben Jacobs has laid out that at this moment in time, there is ‘no guarantee’ of the Portuguese winger moving to Saudi Pro League club Al-Shabab.

Reportedly Al-Shabab is considering paying a sum of €5 million for Podence, which stands at half the valuation of where Wolves actually rate him to be. Also, talks are not advanced between the clubs, with the Old Gold’s hierarchy still dwelling on the thought of Podence staying at the club beyond this window.

However, Ben Jacobs insists that the Saudi-based club has till September 2 to table a more suitable offer.

Meanwhile, according to ‘David Ornstein‘, Wolves have struck an agreement with Eredivisie’s Ajax to sign forward Carlos Forbs. The player will move to Molineux in an initial loan deal which includes an option to buy after the season ends for around €13.5 million. He is reportedly bound to travel from the Netherlands to complete his transfer to Wolves.

Breaking: Wolves agree deal for Fluminense midfielder

As per ‘Fabrizio Romano‘, Premier League’s Wolves have agreed upon a deal with Brazilian club Fluminense to sign midfielder Andre on a permanent deal. Romano has laid out that, the transfer deal between both the parties is ‘sealed’, and further contract formalities are also ready for Andre to move to the Premier League.

Initial reports inflicted that the transfer fee involved in the Brazilian player’s move to Wolves from Fluminense is touted to be around €22 million plus potential add-ons ranging to about €3 million. Fabrizio Romano has stamped that this is the figure agreed upon by both the clubs involved.

Wolves nearing a transfer deal for Crystal Palace’s goalkeeper

As per a recent report by ‘GiveMeSport‘, backed by ‘David Ornstein’ of ‘The Athletic’, Premier League club Wolves are ‘close to agreeing’ a deal with fellow league rivals Crystal Palace in order to sign goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.

Ornstein further laid out that a deal between both clubs for the goalkeeper could stand around a financial mark of £10 million. Earlier in the transfer window, various reports in the English media pointed out that the Eagles were willing to let Johnstone leave this time around and had made that clear to him.

A recent report by football journalist ‘Sacha Tavolieri‘, has inflicted that EFL Championship side Burnley is making it difficult for Premier League club Wolves to get a transfer for winger Luca Koleosho over the line before the ongoing window shuts.

The report lays out that Burnley is not keen on holding any negotiation talks on a fee of around £25 million offered by Wolves’ hierarchy.

However, Tavolieri has embarked that Koleosho does want a move to the Premier League and is reportedly ‘not happy’ about how the Clarets are dealing with the situation.

As per a recent report by Express & Star’s ‘Liam Keen‘, Ligue 1 club FC Nantes’ defender Bastien Meupiyou is expected to fly to England soon in order to complete his permanent transfer to Premier League club Wolves.

The transfer fee involved in the players’ move to the Molineux is touted to be around £4.2 million. Earlier Liam Keen insisted that the 18-year-old French player is ‘likely’ to pen a long-term contract with the Old Gold.

Also, some of the sources close to Wolves embarked upon the fact that despite rumors suggesting that Meupiyou might be loaned out after completing his Wolves transfer, anything like that is unlikely at the moment as the player is more likely to be part of Gary O’Neil’s first team plans.
