Ancelotti is confident ahead of Man City rematch
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said he’s confident of his side’s chances against Manchester City in the Champions League. For the third consecutive year, the European giants are set to lock horns in the competition after they drew each other in the quarter-finals.
In 2022, Los Blancos ousted City in a 6-5 (aggregate) semi-final thriller, before the Sky Blues exacted revenge a year later with a 5-1 (aggregate) demolition at the same stage. Now, the teams are set to meet in the last eight, and it promises to be a cracker yet again.

Both sides are currently leading in their respective leagues and are in good form too, putting them among the top favourites to go all the way once again. Ancelotti was asked for his take on the draw, and the Italian emphasised that his side isn’t worried, but rather optimistic about their progression chances.
Speaking to the press, he said:
“I’ve no idea if they are worried at Man City after the draw! We are optimistic, not worried. We will play with full confidence. One year we won, the following year it was them. Let’s see!”
Real Madrid host Manchester City at the Santiago Bernabeu for the first leg on 9 April, followed by the return leg at the Etihad on 17 April.
Real Madrid and Manchester City promises to be a cracker
Real Madrid and Manchester City contested epic games over two legs in the previous two seasons. There’s no reason to believe that this one won’t live up to the billing either. The sides are on a great run of form right now and could produce another Champions League classic.
