Sergio Aguero to come out of retirement and unveil Manchester City’s home kit for next season

Sergio Aguero will return as a player for the first time since December 2021

Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero will come out of retirement to play at The Soccer Tournament this summer. He is also set to unveil City’s official home kit for the 2024-25 season there.

Aguero retired from football due to a heart condition in December 2021 at 33, when he was at Barcelona, ending his career prematurely. Now, fans will have a chance to see him play again for the first time since then.

In this summer’s 7v7 tournament, The Soccer Tournament, the Argentine will participate with a team of his own, known as Aguero Team. Winners are set to take a staggering prize of $1 million too.

Not only that, there’s something exciting in store for City fans as well, as Aguero and his team will unveil City’s home jersey for the 2024-25 season at the tournament. It would mark a really special occasion for City and their supporters, to watch one of their greatest ever players, grace the fabled sky blue kit once again.

Sergio Aguero’s legacy will forever be remembered for his glorious time at Manchester City, where he spent 10 years. During that run, the Argentine made 390 appearances in all competitions for the side, netting 260 goals, the most in the club’s history. He guided the Sky Blues to 15 titles too, including five in the Premier League. Perhaps, his greatest moment as their player, came in his very first season, when Aguero struck the winning goal against QPR in the dying moments on the final day to guide his side to their first ever title in the league.
