Darwin Nunez’s Injury Update: Expected Return Date for Liverpool Forward

Liverpool‘s misery takes another shocking turn as Darwin Nunez is the latest to join the list of injuries during Saturday’s win over Brentford. This means Jurgen Klopp will be missing nine of his players in the upcoming week, including the mid-week match against Luton as well as the Carabao Cup final.

The table-toppers saw Curtis Jones, Diogo Jota, and Darwin Nunez subbed off due to injury against Brentford, with the Carabao Final just a week away. Liverpool have a clash against Luton Town on Wednesday before difficult games against Manchester City and Everton in March, with an expanding injury list.

Jones (ankle) left the game with crutches, but Jota’s injury (knee) appears to be of high concern. Nunez was more of a precaution, tells the manager. “We have to see how much it costs us. We don’t know yet,” said Klopp, on losing Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Alisson to injury the previous week.

The boss added: “You can count the games coming up so it would be helpful if we had more than one player per position. We have problems we don’t know how big they are. As long as we have 11 players, we will go for it.” Klopp refuses to lose sight of Luton despite a possible chance to win the first silverware of the season.

“We cannot think about the final; we have to think about Luton,” he said. “Luton deserves all of our focus and attention; then we will look to the final. After that, we will see how we can play the next game.” Nunez shared a post on social media after the game. Although he did address the concerns, he was happy to claim all 3 points for his side.

He wrote: “Good victory in a tough stadium!” “Darwin, we took off because he felt really a little, but that was obviously enough today to immediately push the brake, and that’s what we did. So we took him off and brought Cody on, and that worked out really well,” said the manager after the game.
