Manchester United 1-1 Chelsea player ratings as Moises Caicedo’s equaliser help the blues salvage a point from Old Trafford

Manchester United and Chelsea’s game in the Premier League ended in a stalemate after Moises Caicedo‘s strike in the 74th minute cancelled out a penalty from Bruno Fernandes. This was the first game of Manchester United at the Old Trafford after former manager, Eric Ten Hag was sacked.

Chelsea went close to scoring the first goal multiple times but it did not happen. The game sparked into life when Manchester United Captain, Bruno Fernandes scored from the spot after Chelsea goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez caught Rasmus Hojlund‘s foot while diving for the ball. Four minutes later, Caicedo levelled the game with a superb strike. United continued to push for a late opener but was not promising enough. After the game Chelsea climb to fourth in the league table with a better goal difference and 18 points from 10 games displacing Arsenal.

Andre Onana: 6.4/10- Had a good game at goal for Manchester United. Was nervy at times due to the pressure exerted by Chelsea. He conceded a goal and saved two for his team.

Defenders

Noussair Mazraoui: 8.1/10- He had a decent game moving up and down the pitch as a left back. He maintained a passing accuracy of 92 percent and was involved in 12 defensive actions for his team.

Matthijs de Ligt: 6.4/10- He had a decent game but was seen under pressure at time due to the likes of Jackson and Palmer. He maintained a passing accuracy of 95 percent and was involved in five defensive actions.

Lisandro Martinez: 6.8/10- Had a decent game but he took Palmer down with a poor challenge to receive a yellow card. He maintained a passing accuracy of 87 percent and was able recover four balls for his team.

Diogo Dalot: 7.1/10-The Portguese right back had a good game with a passing accuracy of 83 percent. He was involved in eight defensive actions for his team and made four recoveries. Was shown a yellow card after dragging down Pedro Neto.

Midfielders

Casemiro: 6.9/10- Played well today as a defensive midfielder and maintained a passing accuracy of percent. He was involved in 14 defensive actions and made five clearances for his team. He was shown a yellow card after bringing down Neto near the touchline.

Manuel Ugarte: 5.7/10- Did not have a great game as seemed under pressure with the presence of Moise Caicedo in Chelsea’s midifield. Was Booked after he bundled Palmer down.

Bruno Fernandes: 8.5/10 -He lofted a delightful diagonal ball into the box towards the back post, where with the final kick of the first half, Rashford volleys off the top of the crossbar and over. Scored the penalty at the 70th minute sending Sanchez the wrong way.

Attackers

Alejandro Garnacho: 6.2/10- He had four shots on goal and was effective from the right side of the pitch. In one of his shot goalwards, but his effort flies just over the crossbar with Sanchez beaten.

Marcus Rashford: 6.4/10- He had a good game in attack taking two shot on goal. Around the 59th minute mark he blasts towards goal, but though the effort takes a potentially awkward bounce, Sanchez does well to get hold on to it

Rasmus Hojlund: 6.4/10- Was subbed off around the 84 minute mark. He won the penalty which Fernandes scored. He also created two chances for his team in attack.

Substitutes

Amad Diallo: 6.1/10- Replaced Marcus Rashford around the 73rd minute and was cautioned after being involved in a heated argument.

Manager

Ruud Van Nistelrooy: 6.5/10- As an interim manager it is a good result considering the poor form in which Eric Ten Hag had left. He would like his team to be more commanding on the ball to operate more as they want.

Robert Sanchez: 6.4/10- Had a decent game making three save and conceding a goal. He brought Hojlund down and the referee immediately pointed straight to the spot. He was also good with his distribution.

Defenders

Malo Gusto: 6.7/10- He was taken off after the first half. Was helping the team in attack as well as defence. Created a chance for his team and was involved in three defensive actions. Shown a yellow card after Ugarte was running forward and brought down by him.

Wesley Fofana: 7.8/10- He capped a good defensive display keeping the Manchester United attackers at bay. He maintained a passing accuracy of 84 percent and involved in 15 defensive actions for the team.

Levi Colwill: 6.9/10- He had a decent game at the heart of the defence maintaining a passing accuracy of 89 percent. He was also involved in eight defensive actions and made three crucial interception for his team.

Reece James: 7.5/10- The English left back had a good game contributing to the defence as well as in attack. He maintained a passing accuracy of 89 percent and made six recoveries for his team.

Midfielders

Moises Caicedo: 8.3/10- He orchestrated the midfield well with a passing accuracy of 84 percent.He equalised with a volley, which ends as a superb strike into the bottom corner. He was also involved in nine defensive actions and recovered three balls for his team.

Romeo Lavia: 7.3/10- He had a decent game as a defensive midfielder in the game maintaining a passing accuracy of 82 percent. He created a chance for his team and was involved in seven defensive actions for his team.

Cole Palmer: 7.6/10- The English midfielder had a good game connecting with the attackers of his team. He had three shots on goal out of which one he smashed a low cross into the danger area, but Onana got down well to gather. He also created three chances for his team.

Noni Madueke: 6.9/10- He had a decent game in attack and with two shots on goal He maintained a passing accuracy of 80 percent.

Pedro Neto: 6.8/10- He tried to maintain pressure from the left wing and was also able to do that. He had two shots on goal and had a great presence in the opposition penalty box.

Nicolas Jackson: 7.2/10- Was booked in the last moments for being part of an heated argument. He had a good game putting the Manchester United defenders under pressure. He had a shot on goal and created a chance for his team.
