As the teams walked out prior to kick-off, Palmeiras fans unfurled a huge tifo as a tribute to Endrick when he walked out onto the pitch. The cameras panned onto the teenager’s face as he was visibly overcome with emotion due to the occasion.

The 17-year-old came through Palmeiras’ academy, having joined them in 2022, and had become a mainstay in their first-team before Real Madrid snapped him up. The Spanish giants secured his signature back in December 2022 itself for around €72 million, with an agreement that the player would move once he turned 18 in 2024.

He was immediately loaned back to Palmeiras for these two years in between, where has continued developing since. He made 16 appearances for the club’s youth team, scoring an impressive nine goals. Endrick has also made 82 appearances for the senior team and has chipped-in with 21 goals and four assists.

This season, Endrick has made 22 appearances across competitions, scoring four goals and providing two assists. Now, with the season over, he will be gearing up to make the move to Spain.

Where will Endrick fit into Carlo Ancelotti’s plans?

The current Real Madrid squad is perfect for Endrick to be integrated into. They have all the ingredients to create a feasible environment for the young forward to grow and thrive once he joins.

The squad has the perfect blend of youth and experience, mainly dominated by the former. Several players also hail from Brazil, which will help Endrick adjust to life at the club as they would share similar culture and habits.

Additionally, Ancelotti has deployed Jude Bellingham as a false nine in his current system. While Endrick is by no means a guaranteed starter at 17, he could be deployed as a main striker, or could become a back-up for Kylian Mbappe, should his highly-rumoured move from Paris Saint-Germain materialize.

Blessed with a well-built physique and incredible ball control, Endrick has the potential to become a lethal weapon in the final third for Real Madrid. It will be interesting to see how he takes on the big move and how he grows into his new role with Los Blancos.
