In a bid to bolster their attacking lineup, Saudi club Al-Ittihad have expressed a keen interest in securing the services of Atletico Madrid‘s forward, Angel Correa.
Renowned football insider Fabrizio Romano reports that Al-Ittihad are poised to make an official offer to Atletico for the acquisition of the 28-year-old Argentine player.
Angel Correa, who has been with Atletico since 2015, boasts an impressive track record with the Madrid-based team. Having played in 23 matches across various competitions this season, he has notched up five goals and provided one assist. His existing contract with Atletico extends until June 2026.
Al-Ittihad, home to notable players like Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, and Fabinho, are reportedly prepared to offer a substantial sum of up to €60 million ($66 million) to secure the services of the 2022 World Cup winner.

Romano suggests that negotiations for the deal are anticipated to commence soon, acknowledging that it won’t be a straightforward transaction and will hinge on the financial package for both the club and the player.
In the event of Correa’s departure to the Middle East, Romano indicates that Atletico may consider approaching Thiago Almada as a potential replacement.
Currently occupying the fifth position in the La Liga standings, Atletico faces Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey on January 18 under the management of Diego Simeone.
