OFFICIAL: Callum Doyle moves to Norwich City on a season-long loan

Manchester City academy graduate Callum Doyle has completed his season-long loan move to Championship side Norwich City. The England U-21 defender spent his last season with Leicester City and made 17 league appearances as they won promotion to the Premier League.

Doyle has garnered significant first-team experiences in his previous loan spells and has earned three caps for the Under-21 team. The versatile defender can play as a centre-back and a left-back and would be a valuable addition to the Canaries.

But, there is no option for Norwich to buy the 20-year-old on a permanent transfer next summer.

Sheffield United has signed Sam McCallum on a free transfer

The Blades have secured the signing of defender Sam McCallum on a four-year contract. The 23-year-old has made 60 appearances in his four and a half spell at Carrow Road under three different managers – Daniel Farke, Dean Smith and David Wagner.

McCallum is a versatile defender who is capable of playing as a left-back or in a traditional back four. He will become Chris Wilder’s second signing of the summer transfer window after the arrival of Leeds defender Jamie Shackleton.

“The football United play is the football I want to be playing for the next couple of years,” said McCallum.

“I’ve always liked the football which the manager has implemented and hopefully I’ll fit hand-in-hand with that.”

Norwich City turned down a bid for Adam Idah from Celtic

Adam Idah who spent the second half of last season on loan at Celtic is on the verge of making a permanent move to the Celtic Park this summer. He scored a late winning goal for Celtic in the Scottish Cup final against Rangers.

The Hoops made a bid in the region of £5 million for the 23-year-old striker but Norwich City was quick to turn down the initial offer. According to reports, the Canaries are not actively looking to sell Idah this summer as manager Johannes Hoff Thorup is keen to work with the Republic of Ireland striker.

But Idah has made his decision to go back to Celtic to play under the guidance of Brendan Rodgers who is also keen to bring him back this summer.

Idah made his professional debut for Norwich City in 2019 and has scored 17 goals in 115 games since then with his contract expiring in the summer of 2028.
