Burnley vs Arsenal Player Ratings- Saka, Havertz, and Trossard Shine in Away Victory

It has been a wonderful couple of Premier League weekends for Arsenal after they dismantled Burnley 5-0 at Turf Moor on Saturday (Feb 18). The win comes six days after the Gunners had thrashed West Ham 6-0 in another away outing, which has now seen them in the best possible form in the Premier League run-in. After their convincing win over Burnley here is a look at Arsenal and Burnley player ratings for their Premier League clash.

Arsenal Player Ratings

David Raya (7/10)

Totally untested during the match Raya kept a clean sheet against a lackluster Burnley attack. Though it can be challenging for a goalkeeper in such slick and windy conditions, he did well to maintain his focus.

Ben White (7/10)

Ben White deputised in place of Oleksandr Zinchenko’s position as the inverted defensive midfield player. From corners in the opposing box, he posed a threat as well.

William Saliba (6.5/10)

Although Saliba is rarely outpaced in pace, he required assistance from Declan Rice and Jakub Kiwior on multiple occasions in order to stop David Datro Fofana. Luckily, Saliba’s bad days are few and far between.

Gabriel Magalhaes (8/10)

Gabriel Magalhaes had a good race to run at when he faced David Datro Fofana and was also strong from set pieces and came out on top significantly more frequently.

Jakub Kiwior (7/10)

Jakub Kiwior’s outstanding recent performance continues. He strengthened Arsenal’s back line defensively from his left-back position and appeared to be getting more assured with each outing.

Declan Rice (8/10)

When Declan Rice filled in for Saliba late in the first half and made a desperate attempt to stop Fofana, it was arguably his best performance and underlined why he is a $100 million bargain.

Martin Odegaard (9/10)

Martin Odegaard will always punish you if you allow him too much leeway. An excellent first goal and then earning the penalty before assisting the third goal was the peak of his attack.

Kai Havertz (8/10)

A subduedly outstanding performance from the German. His straight dashing through the center of Burnley’s defense created a ton of issues when the score was 1-0.

Bukayo Saka (9/10)

Saka posed a continual danger to the right of the attack before scoring twice, he split the defence with a pass that let Trossard go free. He doubled Arsenal’s lead from the penalty spot and then made it three with a dominant finish following the interval.

Gabriel Martinelli (8/10)

Within four minutes, Arsenal broke the deadlock thanks to the Brazilian’s early driving run and subsequent cutback to Odegaard. Then, he almost discovered the net on his own, but Sander Berge’s pivotal intervention kept him from doing so.

Leandro Trossard (8/10)

Leandro Trossard should have scored a hat-trick, but his amazing day in front of goal was capped off by two irate swipes at fresh air. It took until the 66th minute for Arsenal’s talisman to find the scoreboard.

Burnley Player Ratings

James Trafford – (5/10)

Tough day at the office for the Burnley shootstopper, Trafford was hugely at fault during Arsenal’s dominant win.

Lorenz Assignon – (4/10)

Fought hard to stop Martinelli and ended up giving a penalty that led to Arsenal’s second goal.

Dara O’Shea – (5/10)

Though not personally responsible for any of the five goals, the defense allowed five to be scored.

Maxime Esteve – (5/10)

Maxime Esteve’s story is comparable to O’Shea’s as he started rather early, although Kompany could have used any member of his starting lineup.

Hannes Delcroix (4/10)

Hannes Delcroix failed to stop Saka for Arsenal’s third goal, and Havertz nutmegged him for their fifth. Struggled at left back as well as center back.

Josh Brownhill (4/10)

Josh Brownhill is too often overwhelmed in the middle. late on, clattered into a challenge, but by then, it was too little, too late.

Sander Berge (5/10)

Sander Berge played his defensive role and produced a vital last-second block to prevent Havertz from scoring a simple tap-in.

Aaron Ramsey (4/10)

Aaron Ramsey was stretchered off with oxygen, let’s hope for good news while he did not influence the match.

Wilson Odobert (5/10)

Wilson Odobert appeared to have some influence in the opening half of the match, but as Arsenal scored more goals, he gradually lost interest in the match.

Zeki Amdouni (4/10)

Zeki Amdouni continued his awful run of form with a subdued performance. At halftime, he was hooked off to be replaced by Johann Gudmundsson.

David Fofana (5/10)

David Fofana got some credit from the home crowd for at least putting up a little resistance and pursuing losing causes.
