DC United vs Inter Miami Player Ratings as Luis Suarez scores a brace off the bench in a comfortable win

DC United vs Inter Miami Match Summary

DC United vs Inter Miami ended in a comfortable 3-1 victory for the visitors at Audi Field in Washington, D.C. on March 16.

The hosts made a positive start to the game and looked the better team after the initial exchanges. Jared Stroud gave them an early lead after just 14 minutes as he converted Mateusz Klich’s pass to make it 1-0. With 43% possession in the first half, DC United managed four shots on target from seven attempts.

Inter Miami were not behind for too long, though. Leonardo Campana brought them on level terms just 10 minutes after falling behind, following an assist from Federico Redondo. They had 57% of the ball and attempted nine shots, with three of those on target. Neither side added to the score before the break as the teams were tied at 1-1.

Both DC United and Inter Miami made decent starts to the second period. This time, possession was shared nearly equally as the game began to open up as time passed. Substitute Luis Suarez made a quick impact for his team, putting them 2-1 up just 10 minutes after coming on. Campana assisted that goal with a silky pass.

The Uruguayan grabbed his second of the night to seal the three points in the 85th minute. With the game done and dusted, the only notable incident after that was Pedro Santos’ last-man foul that resulted in a red card.
