Egypt vs Croatia Player Ratings as Luka Modric and Lovro Majer star in a comfortable win for the visitors

Egypt vs Croatia Match Summary

Egypt vs Croatia ended in a 4-2 win for the visitors in an International Friendly at the Misr Stadium in Cairo on March 26.

The hosts made a dream start to the contest as they grabbed the lead after just six minutes of play. Centre-back Rami Rabia converted Mohamed Hamdi’s pass and the goal was awarded following a VAR check. However, their joy was rather short-lived as Nikola Vlasic equalized for Croatia in the 21st minute following Luka Modric’s assist. The visitors had 63% of the ball in the first half but managed just two shots on target as the teams were tied 1-1 at the break.

Both teams made a good start to an end-to-end second half in which they shared equal possession. Croatia grabbed the lead 12 minutes after the restart as Modric provided his second assist of the night for Bruno Petkovic to make it 2-1. Both managers made several changes to their initial lineups, but Croatia’s Andrej Kramaric made the first impact. The striker got on the end of Lovro Majer’s pass to make it 3-1 in the 77th minute.

The pair combined once more to add the icing on the cake for the visitors in the 86th minute. However, the roles were reversed as Kramaric assisted Majer for Croatia’s fourth goal. Egyptian defenders Mohamed Hany and Mohamed Abdelmonem combined for a late consolation goal as the game ended 4-2.

With that said, let’s take a look at the player ratings for both teams.
