Best Forward Picks in Fantasy Premier League GW9

With Gameweek 9 of the Fantasy Premier League around the corner, it is time for us to take a look at which players to sign in the game this week. In this particular piece, we look at the forwards who can give you the most points this week.

5. Chris Wood

Chris Wood is actually a very underrated Premier League striker. He has actually scored 74 goals in the Premier League. This season he is one of the reasons that Nottingham Forest are doing well, scoring 5 times, including a winner on Monday against Crystal Palace. This weekend, their opponents are Leicester City, who are quite leaky defensively and thus expect Wood to shine.

4. Rasmus Hojlund

West Ham have made a really poor start to the season by all accounts. Manchester United haven’t been much better but the fact that West Ham’s defence has been very bad, makes this an appealing fixture for United and Rasmus Hojlund. The Danish striker Hojlund has returned from injury and is looking like he’s beginning to hit form with 2 goals in his last 3 club games, including the winner against Brentford last weekend.

3. Dominic Solanke

Dominic Solanke is someone who has had a mixed start to the season. While he has scored a couple of times this season already, the performances have not been consistent. Speaking of inconsistency, Crystal Palace are right up there. In fact they are yet to register a single win so far. They have genuinely been super underwhelming and it is expected to continue this weekend. Solanke should be primed to take advantage of it.

2. Nicolas Jackson

Nicolas Jackson is someone who divides opinion. While his finishing is a little inconsistent, he does repeatedly get into great positions and is a very good all round striker. This means that even with the inconsistency in finishing, he is likely to provide good Fantasy Premier League returns just by the law of averages. Fresh from scoring against Liverpool in a loss last weekend, the Senegalese striker Jackson this weekend will face off against a struggling Newcastle United side.

1. Erling Haaland

Only Man City forward Erling Haaland can go three games without a goal and still top this list. That being said, the last few games have been poor. He hasn’t even been involved at getting on the end of some good chances. But only a fool would bet against him scoring this week, considering that Manchester City take on Southampton. The Saints have conceded 18 goals already and no one will be surprised if Haaland adds a few more to that tally.
