While Robert Sanchez has come under plenty of criticism this season, he has been improving of late. Chelsea too have been much better of late defensively. This week, they face Southampton, who are funnily enough one of the lowest scorers in the Premier League. The Saints have struggled in front of the goal in their return to the Premier League. A big performance once again from Sanchez will help dispel doubts over his place in the side. The Spanish keeper has 3 clean sheets so far this season. He has also made a total of 45 saves.
4. Emi Martinez – Aston Villa | 35 points | £5.0m
Clean sheets-wise, it hasn’t been the best of starts to the season for Emiliano Martinez and therefore his Fantasy Premier League points have suffered. But when the lights are bright, there’s probably no one better. The Argentine custodian will hope to take that form into the club season again. Aston Villa are winless in 8 games and at such a time, they need a player of Emi Martinez’s quality to step up. The Argentine usually does step up when the going gets hard so in the next couple of matches, he will be expected to come up with a big performance. This weekend, Villa host Brentford. Martinez has just one clean sheet but 34 saves.

3. Jordan Pickford – Everton | 52 points | £4.9m
Everton have largely been the whipping boys of the Premier League this season and recently they were absolutely thrashed by Manchester United. This weekend they take on Wolves who are extremely inconsistent. Gary O’Neil’s side have struggled and with Everton’s defence being their strength arguably, this could be the week they pick up a clean sheet. For that reason, Jordan Pickford could be a worthwhile pick in Fantasy Premier League this week. Additionally, he gets a lot of save points and bonus points. He has 4 clean sheets so far this season and has made 34 saves.
2. Bart Verbruggen – Brighton | 33 points | £4.5m
At the present moment, only 2.9% have chosen Bart Verbruggen. He is quite cheap at £4.5m too. Coamhin Kelleher is one of the best second choice keepers in the world. Over the last few years, on multiple occasions, he has stood in for Alisson and done a commendable job. Recently in particular, he has been outrageously good with clean sheets against Real Madrid and Manchester City. In Fantasy Premier League, he has become a great value keeper. Liverpool face a lowly Newcastle side this weekend and the Irishman will be expected to keep a clean sheet and get the points. He has made 21 saves and has 3 clean sheets.
As we turn our attention to Gameweek 14, the Premier League has a thrilling set of fixtures lined up. The highlight of the weekend is the intense fixture between Manchester United and Arsenal. The Gunners have regained their form and need to secure a victory to avoid falling too far behind Liverpool at the summit of the table. United, conversely, will aim to achieve their first significant victory under new manager Ruben Amorim. The games are now beginning to come thick and fast as the schedule keeps becoming tighter and tighter.
