Gameweek 9 of the Fantasy Premier League season is almost upon us. With some exciting fixtures on the line, let us look at what players to have this week. In this list, we delve into the goalkeepers.
5. Matz Sels
Nottingham Forest face Leicester City this weekend. This is a risky one because Leicester are good at attacking. But it is important to point out the form that Matz Sels has been in. A mind blowing save against Crystal Palace last week was the difference between victory and a draw. Before that it was a wonderful performance at Chelsea that made sure of a draw. Whatever Leicester throw at him, Sels is expected to be up to it.

4. Mark Flekken
Brentford are usually known for their solid defence. Thomas Frank sets them up in a compact structure and they are always very hard to beat. This weekend, they face Ipswich Town. The newly promoted side are still winless in the top division and getting that win in this game would be a tough ask. Keeping all this in mind, Mark Flekken would be a very good choice between the sticks in Fantasy Premier League this week.
3. Emi Martinez
Emiliano Martinez and Aston Villa are flying. Villa are 4th in the table and first in the Champions League table and there is nothing to suggest that they are anything but a top team now. A huge reason for that is Emiliano Martinez. Time and time again, he has come up with massive saves to win the club a lot of points. Expect it to be the very same this weekend, when they take on Bournemouth.
2. Guglielmo Vicario
Man for man, Tottenham actually have a very good backline. But Ange Postecoglou’s risky, attack first style of play means that there are often gaps to exploit against them. That being said, the opponent should be able to exploit those gaps. This cannot be said about Crystal Palace given the form that they are in. So even, Palace do manage to bother Spurs, expect goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario to be up to it, and get some good points.
1. Ederson
For yet another week, Ederson makes it to the top of this list. A prime reason for that is Manchester City’s opponents this week – Southampton. On their return to the Premier League so far, the Saints have only found the back of the net 6 times in 8 games. To expect that they will do the same against Manchester City is a big, big ask. That’s the reason why Ederson is the best bet among keepers in GW 9.
