Top Picks for this week

5. Guglielmo Vicario – Tottenham Hotspur| 28 points | £5.0m

Guglielmo Vicario hasn’t quite had the same level of performances this season that he did last season in what was his first season in the Premier League. But that is something we see with most players and the Italian has still been largely decent. Spurs under Ange Postecoglou are a side that believes in going all in attacking wise and it sometimes leaves them vulnerable at the back. With Spurs set to face a still winless Ipswich side this weekend, a clean sheet could be coming Vicario’s way. He has 2 clean sheets to go with his 23 saves this season so far.

4. Bernd Leno – Fulham | 30 points | £5.0m

The honest reason as to why Bernd Leno features here has more to do with their opponents than Fulham or Leno himself. This week, Fulham play Crystal Palace who have been really poor going forward. In terms of goals scored, the Eagles are second from bottom with 8. On top of that, their main force in attack Eberechi Eze will miss this game through injury. This means that Leno will have a great chance of keeping a clean sheet this weekend. The German has not been bad but he has only kept a solitary clean sheet so far. He has made a total of 30 saves.

3. Jordan Pickford – Everton | 35 points | £4.9m

Everton aren’t always a dependable side in Fantasy Premier League terms. Jordan Pickford however is a very reliable player and one of their better options in the game. This week, the Toffees face West Ham, who have been struggling and will be without the services of main attacking threat Mo Kudus. While Everton are pretty bad defensively, letting in goals at an average of 1.7 a game, Pickford has been quietly solid. He has two clean sheets and 25 saves in total this season. 15 of his points came in a mammoth performance against Newcastle United and he will be hoping for a repeat.

2. Matz Sels – Nottingham Forest | 48 points | £4.6m

Mats Selz

Matz Sels has been the standout goalkeeper in Fantasy Premier League this season. Already this season, he has managed to accumulate 48 points which is more than any other keeper in the game. The fact that Nottingham Forest has been immensely stingy defensively is quite helpful, meaning Sels has only been beaten 7 times across 10 games. On the contrary, he has made 27 saves and has 4 clean sheets, the joint most in the league. This week, Forest take on Newcastle United. The Magpies are yet to reach the standards they have set in the last few seasons.

1. Andre Onana – Manchester United | 44 points | £5.0m

When Andre Onana came to Manchester United, he arrived with a big reputation and even bigger boots to fill. His start to life at the club was terrible with several highly publicized errors. Nowadays, you barely hear a word about him. While in part, that is because Manchester United have bigger talking points, but it is also because Onana has been quietly reliable. This season, he has 4 clean sheets, the joint most of any keeper and his points tally in Fantasy Premier League is second only to Matz Sels. As the resurgent Red Devils take on newly promoted Leicester City this weekend, Onana will be hoping to keep another clean sheet. He has made 23 saves so far.

As we turn our attention to Gameweek 11, the Premier League has a thrilling set of fixtures lined up. The highlight of the weekend is the intense London derby between Chelsea and Arsenal. Both teams are desperate for a win, and a fiery encounter is expected.
Liverpool, in fine form, will host Aston Villa, while Manchester City face a tough challenge at Brighton’s Amex Stadium. The Citizens will be aiming to end their three match losing streak and revive their season. The deadline for Gameweek 11 is November 9th.
